I used a Bic pen to fix the shift linkage on a 65 Mustang out in the middle of the desert. Trying to go 70 miles in first gear with a 202 would have taken me about 10 hours.You probably meant 302, but if it was a 65 it would have been a 289.

I think the 1964 1/2 mustang which some called 1965 model came with a 260 v8 instead of the 289.

To be really accurate it was a 64 1/2 and it was a 202.
It was not a 289 and there were a lot of 65's with 202's.
