Oh, right, about the various fruits on the tree, and what they mean ~ what you can make out of them ~ what's good to eat ~ what's not good to eat, and so forth.

Then, each fruit has an animal, or group of animals, associated with it. The story would tell you what the animal does, what you can use it for, and is it good to eat, or can it help you.

You get more of the animal stories in the Noah structure. There you have a Memory Palace (as the Jesuits called this method of memorization) that's a very large boat. It has a myriad of rooms spread out over different decks, and some near the center, and others on the sides.

Each animal in the stall/cage/or room does certain things. The full unedited story would have told you about each animal's lifestyle.

Apparantly the original story even had various bodies of learning for which each of the 7 surviving souls were responsible but neither the Hindu version nor the Hebrew version tell us much about those people other than their names. Still, looking at what the Hindu tale gives us of Ma-Nu and the folks on the boat we know the human beings were all geniuses, and they knew various sciences and philosophies. No doubt this was quite expansive in its time.

The Garden of Eden itself is the beginning of a memnonic Memory Palace. It has animals, plants, rocks, rivers, and so forth. In fact, there are 4 rivers (other similar tales from ancient cultures would suggest the 4 rivers are the 4 primary directions, and you use that as a tool to teach the young how to get around in the Earth, and to begin instruction in astronomy.)

That's the way it was in a pre-literate world. Folks had to memorize a tremendous amount of stuff; make lists in their minds of all the animals (give them names), and all the plants (what's good, what's not), and the weather and what to do about it, and how to make clothing, and out of what, ad infinitum.

It is instructive to those of us in the present to note that Genesis has more than one Memory Palace.

There are books about memory palace techniques.

Yup ~ mind and/or consciousness does not arise out of the transactions conducted by genes producing proteins, et al.

Instead, there are "higher order" devices in our cells that mediate that process ~ we just don't know what they are, but this seems to be the first inklings of the discovery of how the switches are thrown to turn on a DNA strand to do its thing.

There has to be a CPU somewhere in the cell to make life work.

Your thoroughness in your post is impressive.

My 'thoroughness' is NOTHING compared to His...

 John 19:30
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

The business about the town of Sodom being filled with homosexuals has to do with Lot's wife's having allowed him to take the family, particularly the daughters, to a town where she would never be able to find them husbands.

I think you give Lot's wife WAY too much power!

As for husbands...

Genesis 19:14
So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry  his daughters. He said, "Hurry and get out of this place, because the LORD is about to destroy the city!" But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

There is a widespread belief that the window was open for prophecy from about 2000 BC to about 200 AD, and then it closed.

Ok......

NIV Acts 11:27
During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

NIV Acts 13:1
In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.

NIV Acts 15:32
Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers.

NIV Acts 19:6
When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues  and prophesied.

NIV Acts 21:8-10
  8.  Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven.
  9.  He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.
 10.  After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.

NIV Romans 12:6
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his  faith.

NIV 1 Corinthians 11:4-5
 4.  Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.
 5.  And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is just as though her head were shaved.

NIV 1 Corinthians 12:7-10
  7.  Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
  8.  To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
  9.  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
 10.  to another miraculous powers, to another prophesy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,  and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

NIV 1 Corinthians 12:28
And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.

NIV 1 Corinthians 13:2
If I have the gift of prophesy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

NIV 1 Corinthians 14:1
Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesy.

NIV 1 Corinthians 14:3
 3.  But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.

NIV 1 Corinthians 14:1-5
 1.  Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesy.
 2.  For anyone who speaks in a tongue  does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.
 3.  But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.
 4.  He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
 5.  I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,  but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues,  unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.

NIV 1 Corinthians 14:22
Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophesy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.

NIV 1 Corinthians 14:29
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.

NIV 1 Corinthians 14:32
The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.

NIV 1 Corinthians 14:39
Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

NIV Ephesians 4:11-13
 11.  It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
 12.  to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
 13.  until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

NIV 1 Thessalonians 5:19-20
 19.  Do not put out the Spirit's fire;
 20.  do not treat prophesies with contempt.

NIV Revelation 1:3
Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophesy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

NIV Revelation 11:3
And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth."

The sin of not believing the anecdotal tripe, strung together and packaged as "science", to sell the fraud of macro-evolution?

What evidence have you that "macro-evolution" is a fraud?

[ A possible answer for why was I born?... ]

I meant that more on the level of what every teenager asks themselves.. The question unanswered gets more sophisticated as time goes on though.. Same question.. it just gets sematicized... Some if not blaming their parents for all their problems.... BLAME GOD...

The possibility that all their problems come from "sins" of omission or commission is beyond them.. its not easy being a primate... ;^)..

Whos correct Einstein or Bohrs?.. Plato or Aristotle?.. The truth is they both may be correct in a measure..

Yes, that is the truth!!! Niels Bohr would say both are true, but not at the same time (i.e., at the time of observation). He would say the two views are "complementary": Both are needed to give the full description of the system under study. This is apparently what he meant when he said that the "opposite" of any great truth is a great truth.

This situation is analogous to quantum superposition, in which one must ask: Is it a particle, or is it a wave? Any subatomic particle is actually both, but only "one view or the other" is possible at a single time.

In other words, the observer decides which to see, depending on the experimental design. But to see one view does not make the other one "go away": it just recedes from view. Yet both views are needed to constitute the "full description of the system."

Quantum theory is full of surprises and seeming paradoxes. Essentially it tells us that we are deluded in believing that we can know anything in its completeness for a certainty.

When God specifically states in Genesis 1.....'evening, then morning - the end of day one', etc., etc. - there can be NO way of misunderstanding that. Yet, some put their own interpretation/spin/thoughts into it to suit their needs.

God means what He says. You either take The Almighty Creator at His Word or you take mere mortal Dead Darwin's 'thoughts' as gospel. We create our own destiny with our choices and one can't claim ignorance when one's time is up.

I believe God was so specific in Genesis 1 because The All Knowing God knew the lies that would be put forth about His Creation. And those that WANTED THE TRUTH would have it.
