Syria's military, like most of those in the ME, is best equipped to deal with problem with the local populace. They are poorly equipped to project force outside their borders.
That being said, I hope they do not step in and widen the war.

The IDF was still encountering Hizbullah guerrillas who were shooting form inside mosques, hospitals, and schools. They take advantage of the population, Assulin said, "But the IDF has high moral values and does its best to avoid harming anyone uninvolved." That Lebanon is not choosing to work with international forces to get rid of these barbarians speaks volumes about the goverment there.

I believe Tired of Laundry came up with the term on the Tony Snow thread to describe a handsome man.
I had the misfortune to be chatting with someone on that thread about seeing Major Garrett in jeans and followed it with the word THUD. To my utter embarrassment Tony picked up on that post and teased me about it.
