Nokia's days as the world's number one mobile phone vendor could be numbered, according to analysts.

A new report from Strategy Analytics found that over the last four quarters, Motorola has averaged growth of around 52 percent, while Nokia has managed just 32 percent.

It's a wonder, given its getting uglier and uglier phones + complacency, Nokia still maintain its market share.

If cell phone manufacturer Nokia merged with car manufacturer Kia, what would their name be?

I've owned multiple models of both brands. Motorola clearly produces a better product.

"Motorola has averaged growth of around 52 percent, while Nokia has managed JUST 32 percent"

My word!!!

Incidentally, that's an interesting contrast with the market growth for our buddies in the main stream media, isn't it?

Would be great for Motorola to overtake an European company to become the # 1 phone maker on the planet again.
After all, Motorola was # 1 for a very long time before Nokia overtook them a few years back, after Moto had taken their eye off the ball for many years.

Nokia moved most of their Manufacturing and Production down to Mexico this year. Alot of people lost their jobs. Of course it also means that alot of people gained jobs...just not in the United States. Nokia has some plans that may create jobs in the US tho. Can't say much more.

He played some part.
But I thought the previous CEO, Christopher Galvin, did most of the turn around.
Results improved too soon after Ed Zander took over for him to have had that much to do with it.
