I'm surprised no one has talked about the CPT who filed the charges even though he didn't believe the soldier did anything wrong.
This CPT was playing with someones life, career and family because he thought he might roll over on someone else.
I can't express the disbelief I have with this officers action. This is why I always tell my soldiers NEVER talk to the MPs or CID without a lawyer. Ask for one first thing and don't let them try to tell you that you don't need one. Even if your witness, I would want a lawyer.
I hate to think that some of our officers are sleeping with the enemy, but it sure looks that way sometimes.

That's my advice for everyone in the civilian world as well. I sat in on jury duty where the cops hot-boxed the suspect for 3+ hours of yelling and screaming and no potty breaks, etc. As it was they charged him with attempted murder, heroin possession, and assult when he was guilty of child abuse.
If the guy would've kept his mouth shut he'd have walked on that one too....
This will follow them the rest of their lives.
I imagine these two men will be asking for early release from the Guard. I can't blame them.

Luckily for society, many criminals do talk and are subsequently tried, convicted, and punished. Make no mistake about it, the so-called "Miranda rights" have kept many criminals on the streets and many victims without justice.
It's called CYA. I hope the SOB gets sidetracked on his career for pulling it.
I do, too. It was a rotten thing to do to two good men.
Don' worry about them. They have solid support here in their own hometown. We will be hiring several new police officers soon, and these two men should go to the top of the list.
That's good. It's not right, the way our military is being treated though.
