DNC: Move Over Whitey
Rolling Stone ^ | Julyh 24, 2006 | Tim Dickinson

The stranglehold that Iowa and New Hampshire have long maintained on the Democratic nominating process will slacken in 2008. Late to recognize the danger in allowing two of the whitest states in the nation to play kingmaker for a party that lives and dies by motivating an increasingly diverse constituency, the party has moved to add Nevada and South Carolina to the first contests on the primary calendar.

Unlike New Hampshire (95% white) and Iowa (93% white), minorities make up roughly 35% in both Nevada and South Carolina.

Sure, why not? Could not do any worse a job then the Democrats have been doing since 1960.

Ok Babe, I surrender. Given the current leanings and political dogmas of the Democrat Party Leadership I suggest they hold their 1st primary in Havana Cuba. They will feel RIGHT at home and pretty sure Cuba is not predominately "white". However maybe Zimbabwe would be more to their liking? Cuba might still be too "white" for them?

Um.....the winner of the Iowa/New Hampshire primaries are seldomly selected as Presidential candidates.

You ever notice how libs tell us that we're not supposed to see skin color and then spend all their time looking at it?

You're so 1970's. Real liberals go to Venezuela. I'm awaiting the announcement that the DNC will hold their 2008 convention there.

So, let me see if I understand this right - They'll hold early primaries where northeastern liberal democrats hold little sway?

Gosh, didn't they get the press release from Rove that he wants Hilary to run?

They should hold the first Democrat primary in Mississippi. That would be interesting, to say the least.

I am NOT '70s! I am fashionalby Retro! I mean, if the Democrats Leadership 2006 Election year slogan is going to be "Back to the '60s," (on second thought given their recent retoric that could be the 1860s they were speaking about) I don't see why WE cannot get in the spirit of the thing?

Why don't they ask some of the minorities on Howard Dean's former campaign staff what they should do?

I'm not sure why this isn't considered hate speech, but I'm sure the liberals will find a "nuanced" way to explain it.

I hope they move it wherever makes them happy. They're losers now, and will always be losers.

Move over, Lewis Black! I can't wait for the democrat primaries! I can't wait to watch that pack of total losers snapping at each other to be the king "rat." Unless I've missed someone, there doesn't seem to be anyone in the running who is worth even two cents or two seconds of serious consideration. Hopefully, we will all hear more from Dean and Kerry and Clinton and Gore. lol And then there will be those sly, under the radar rats like Obama, who will walk softly and carry a soft stick. lol Gosh! This will be better than the TV sweeps! lol

So they need to add Republican states to get some "ethnic diversity."

the winner of the Iowa/New Hampshire primaries are seldomly selected as Presidential candidates.

That is what I was thinking, like these primaries actually mean anything. By the time the actual election takes place, the names from these primaries are dusty footnotes.
