Not really. If she had her eyes on the kid, she would've seen what he was doing. If she had seen what he was doing, she could've stopped him. If she could've stopped him, we wouldn't be discussing this now. You don't know that. there is a 3rd scenario possible that everyone laying blame on either the mother or WalMart fail to grasp........it could have just been a freak accident that is NO ONE'S FAULT.

Please, allow me to point you to the sentence in the article that says :
The mother told police she was about 5 feet away from her son when she heard a loud crash. If she had been watching him, she would've seen him, not just heard the crash.
