Just got back from a weekend in Hot Sulphur, near Lake Granby shown above. Lots of red trees on the hills across town from us. By next year they will start turning gray, and the fire hazard will be extreme. Between the lightning and the idiots with their campfires (fire ban is in effect) there is sure to be a huge fire in the area before long.

It didn't look much better in Vail last week..

When the beetle killed trees near Vail start to burn, Vail will be losing many expensive homes.

The massive numbers of dead trees one can see as they drive on I-70 is huge.

Those homeowners should get together to create some defensible spaces to help the fire fighters when the fires come...not if the fires come.

IMHO.
