Pine beetles nearly ruined my honeymoon. Back in 1994 my new bride and I stayed the night at the classy and expensive Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, WA. We opened a closet in our room and found squirmy maggot looking larvae on the floor, Hundreds of them. Closer inspection also found these little critters in our carpet. Yuk! Found out by the desk clerk that they were pine beetle larvae, not maggots, a real comfort that was.
