Did I miss the part where Jeff Jacoby explains how with his nation at war he is too important or to valuable at home to serve? Nope, what you missed was showing up with a coherent arguement for your points. The use of "chickenhawk" is just a distraction from any real discussion on Iraq.

The use of "chickenhawk" is just a distraction from any real discussion on Iraq. What I read as his argument was "just because I am not willing to risk my personal safety and comfort, that does not mean Iraq is not worth other people dying for."
Did I miss something?

"Chickenhawk" refers to those who strongly support the use of military force but avoided military service and combat themselves. It has nothing to do with a particular party.
