"How can the Red Cross turn away a million dollars for charity?"

I didn't think it was possible to dislike these morons more than I already did but once again they keep on sinking to new depths. Still terrific seats available for their two upcoming dates here in the North East. Can't say the same about those in Oklahoma City, Indianapolis and St.Louis those were all postponed indefinitely.

Taking the Long Way was released May 23. The disc sold more than 800,000 copies in its first two weeks and was the Number One album both weeks. It's still riding high at Number Four.

It's easier for George Soros to buy albums than to fill up concert halls.

Read in todays paper that only 11,000 at Joe Lewis in Detroit last night for their concert - they make their entry onto the stage with "Hail to the Chief" playing - but they say it has nothing to do with politics !!!

Yup. soros must be sore about it all. he can only buy currencies and materials. he cannot buy Americans, espeically when it comes to marshalling them into a music hall to hear the latest anti-American diatribes.

The arse-kissing coverage of their show in Pittsburgh last night was shameful. 3 people interviewed and of course all said 'what controversy?' or mumbled something about freedom of speech.

8500 people in a building that holds 12,000, btw.

Yet all of the controversy may be helping to sell the trio's excellent new CD.

Ha ha ha ha. Impartial "news" indeed.

says Maines... "We know who we are and what we do. We have banjo and fiddle."
And the world's smallest fiddle plays for the portly Maines and the seditious sisters.

The "short bus express tour" continues.

It is amazing what "payola" will buy you with the fawning press nowdays.

This business with the Red Cross is disgusting.

These bitter gals sound like a slow unraveling has begun. When you think you are attacked you rally to each other. But after awhile as the battle lags on , you start to question your own forces actions, and recriminations begin.

I believe the "Twits" have started to reach this phase and are soon to start the steps to an eventual breakup.

Now, let's look at previous album sales by the Ditzy Chicks:

Wide Open Spaces (1998) - 12x platinum
Home (2002) - 6x platinum
Taking the Long Way - 1.3 million, weekly sales down to 57,000 - no way this will make double platinum.

So as much as liberal want to pretend that Natalie's fat mouth did not affect album sales, the trends show otherwise.

It's also not hard to get to number one and stay in the top ten when there aren't many other major albums released at that time. I read where their sales of the new album are abysmal compared to their previous releases.

Natalie!

Shut up already. If you want any career at all you need to learn when to just let it go and put on your game face.

With a mouth like hers, I'm beginning to wonder how the heck they became successful in the first place. Dig any deeper, and they'll be trying to fill venues in China, for goodness sake.

"The band would have made the donation "only if the American Red Cross would embrace the band's summer tour," she writes, referring to the group's 2003 U.S. tour after the London incident."

Their new album should have this top rap number:

'Guess we'll have to accept our fate
Cause they don't take VISA at the Pearly Gate!'

Several Freepers here who know the music business better than I have posted that tours are where groups really make their money and CD sales aren't the biggest percentage of their take.

I gather it's financially better for a band to have a great tour and a poor album than the other way around. Looks like a sliver lining article to me.
