The reason Democrats want a middle east special envoy is because they want to deny Dr. Rice or President Bush the opportunity to again prove how much better we are with Republicans in power versus failed Democrat leadership, or bungling by Madam Albright and Warren Christopher.
Democrats are trying to share the spotlight in anticipation of it working and their absence will be obvious.

MORGAN!!! Howdy, I am so glad you took a break to join us today..
You are very correct...what the dems are fearing the most, is that this WILL turn out well...and further prove that the Bush Doctrine of getting rid of terrorists will actually happen...AND it will be so close to the elections.
Also, I have already heard a lot of talk on the talk shows, about "why do Jews vote democrat all the time, when it is the dems that don't want them to win their own wars"...that kind of comment.
Could you imagine how upset ole Raum Emmanuel would be if there was a good sized shift of the Jewish vote from Dem to Rep?

What else could it be? You nailed it. Prissy Chrissy was on the Leno show last week stumping for Bubba to be appointed Envoy to the Middle East to iron things out between Israel and Hizbullllah. I can just imagine the Israelis' eagerness to deal with Cigar Man again after applying some of that snake oil he fobbed off on them the last time he came to town.
