I am not at all ready to give up on the democracy project in Iraq. It is too soon. Intense focus on eonomic development and political systems wored in Europe and Japan after WWII and it worked in South Korea, But it took longer than we have given this and has required ongoing support. W#e have undoubtably gotten our money back many times over by trading with them.
On the other hand, we have nothing to show for all the foreign aid we have dribbled away over the years to countries that do not change, Give it another three years and see what the Iraq project looks like then,
