"I'm Already Involved in a Campaign"

Former US vice president Al Gore talks about his documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," his battle against global warming, and rumors of his return to politics in the 2008 race for the White House.

SPIEGEL: Mr. Gore, what kind of car do you drive?

Gore: About a year ago we bought a hybrid, but I don't drive very much. We've changed our entire lifestyle. We made the decision to be carbon-neutral and eliminate any net CO2 contribution to the environment. Even "An Inconvenient Truth" was produced in part using carbon-neutral, alternative energies. Paramount also made the decision to ensure that the tour and the promotional activities would be done in a carbon-neutral way.

He's already involved in a make-over campaign to make himself relevant again. He knows he's not radical enough for his own party after his Veep choice is getting kicked around.

"We've changed our entire lifestyle."

Why do I feel so completely sure that this is a blatant lie?

I don't think he gets to those high-priced speaking engagements of his in that hybrid. Also, most of these people don't drive, they are driven...in those evil SUVs.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Hah! There are some who think this is reality. Gore and his followers live in a fantasy world.

"We made the decision to be carbon-neutral and eliminate any net CO2 contribution to the environment."

Gore is such a dolt. If the above was true he wouldn't eat or exhale.

I wonder what his Secret Service escorts drive and how much.

Alternatively, "I don't drive very much, it's much more convenient to fly."

What about that zinc mine in his backyard that deposits heavy metals into the nearby river?

You're thinking of methane. CO2 comes from its breath - the same as humans.

How do these morons reconcile that fact that every time we breathe we exhale CO2? Do they hold their breath more? Do they only breathe around trees so the CO2 is immediately soaked up by the trees? Inquiring minds want to know.

I call B.S. One plane ride, one flip of the light switch, one meal of beef you didn't make it Albert. Unless he means there is no more carbon in the world when he leaves as when he entered. Then, yes he is carbon neutral, but guess what? We all are. Oxygen neutral, hydrogen neutal, zinc neutral, etc. also. What a useful idiot.
