I do remember I did a one man FReep and could not post a thread back then because I was too new. So there was some sort of time limit (but not sure how long it is now, if any at all).

What a coincidence...you and I signed up on the same day, same year...I remember not being able to post for a while also. I think it just may have been in effect for a short time during the period when Gore was trying to steal the election, and a bunch of us were wanting to have our say. That was when the "broken-glass-Republicans" label was born, if I recall correctly.

Hrrmm, I'm serving in the Israeli army, a war just broke out - isn't that a good time to sign up?

OK, in your case - if there was a rule made - I'm sure there would be an exception... Post away and add me to your ping list... Thanks.

My ratio of threads to replies is the following. For every reply, I post 0.0094850948509485094850948509485095 threads ;). I guess that's about 100 to 1.

The Admin Mod's response in post 34 was good enough for me. If you haven't seen the kinds of threads I'm taking about, the topic lines graphically decribe raping children (I'd rather not repeat the exact language). And there have been quite a few of these posts popping up in the last week.

It's not standard DUmmie Troll stuff. It could be a banned former-Freeper since at least two tried to smear the owner of this site. I don't know what's going on, but it's disturbing--especiallly for those of us who look at Free Republic with our kids.

DEAR PRECIOUS ISRAELI . . .

GOD'S ABSOLUTE BEST TO YOU, YOUR BROTHERS, SISTERS IN ARMS, YOUR COUNTRYMEN, WOMEN; YOUR FAMILIES.

You are in our hearts and prayers.

Thankfully, GOD ALMIGHTY has you even more in His care than we do. Thankfully, God almighty is intensely involved in your land and your people.

I don't know all the sequence or events yet to come. I'm just thankful that God's promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are YEA AND AMEN. They are absolutely dependable.

The hearts and arms of man may wax and wane; be strong one minute and useless the next. But the arm of God remains faithful always. Sometimes we may wonder the way events can twist and turn but the end always reveals God's faithfulness.

Anyway--I just wanted to take this chance to affirm my heartfelt and intense support for you and yours at this challenging time.

Blessings,
LUB,

I'd rather have some of us post the "DU threads of the day" here. In the humor section.

I found Free Republic when Fox News still had a forum on Delphi. I had to re-register because I had to do a system restore on my computer some years back and lost all my id and password info. I'd say I've "lurking" on Free Republic for about 6 years.

Many the time's been I've passed on information to ill-informed friends and co-workers because of what you all have provided to this grand forum.

God bless Free Republic! (I know this is off-topic but I had to get this off my chest.)

We need a Congressional hearing on this.

If the Democrats/liberals control the house, senate and presidency, sad to say, it may happen.

Everybody now bad mouths AOL, but years ago I remember there was a button next to each post that read "Ignore Poster". Press that baby, and the source was erased from your reading list.

How did that work? Could you see that posts were being "ignored"? Or were ignored posts completely invisible?

If you pressed the ignore button, you would never see posts by that screen name again. Those that chose not to press the button would continue to see posts from that screen name.

I have suggested a Hi Jack complaint button that would record and keep track of every time the poster has tried to hi jack a thread. After reaching a certain number of complaints, the poster would be banished.
