So I'm listening to tales of the evacs from Lebanon and Canada got it all messed up. Other countries? Hey, lots of their citizens are still there.

I say to husband, "Guess which country got its citizens out of Lebanon first?"

"America," he says with no hesitation. No hesitation at all and hey, I know he's my husband but suppose I'd have asked this question of any one you? Would not your answer have been the same?

Because America is full of manly men and we get the damn job done. We multitask, in fact, and save the rest of the stupid planet while we're at it.

So anyway the electricity goes off this morning and the local yokel company says it won't be back on until 11:30 am. This was at 9:00 am so I'm all at odds.

I return to bed and figure I will sleep. I could not sleep. So I mentally make a list of all the things one could do with no electricity. I'm perfectly serious here.

Let's see, there's painting. I could, of course, read a book as it was daylight. And I even have a book to read but nah, not the ticket. Board games! I got a closet full of them.

Finally, hey, I figured out something else people can do without electricity so go on. After all, husband did get that answer right, spot on, the very first time. Insert wink here.
