BOSTON, United States (AFP) — Carol Troxell's little cookie shop in downtown Boston will be in the chips if political fortune smiles on one of its founders -- Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.
The Massachusetts senator, now 60, set up the store in 1976 with a friend and started hawking a line of sweets led by chocolate chip cookies made with a recipe from his mother Rosemarie.
Kerry gave up the Kilvert & Forbes shop, named after the maiden names of the partners' mothers, in the early 1980s when he turned to politics. It ended up in the hands of Troxell and Sara Youngelson.
