I think the Israelis lost their element of surprise when they:
1. Spent the last three days urging civilians to get out of southern Lebanon.2. Began amassing huge numbers of troops, tanks and other military assets along the border. Troops and tanks can't be left sitting on roadsides indefinitely, and they are all pointed north. If Israel doesn't plan to back down, those troops and tanks are going to move soon.

Exactly...where's the surprise? Betcha they use an air strike of heavy proportions from an unlikely source instead. It's a ruse. Shhh.
