A little mean-spirited, no?
Kids like Fanning etc. are working kids. I've known many of them. And while their experiences growing up are vastly different than most kids, the majority leave the business to go on to other things. Some stay with it and either fail or succeed. And some get horribly screwed up -- but that percentage is no greater than kids outside the business.
