It is a beautiful gift isn't it Kitty? I am overwhelmed with emotion every time I pick it up. I can just hear Sistah giving Bear instructions on just how it should be. He was probably glad to be rid of it after having to redo his stitches so many times.

Hi Nan! I am in the Internet Cafe aboard the Regal Princess sailing home from our magnificent Alaskan adventure, and have been scanning the Finest thread and saw the photo you posted of the beautiful afghan that Maggie's husband made for you!

I can tell you now that, a few months ago, Maggie sent me a freepmail asking me what color afghan I thought you would like. She thought, since I had been in your home, I would be able to help her choose a color that would go. I sent her some of the photos I took and told her that I was sure that pink would be perfect. :-) Maggie also explained to me about the afghan gift that Bernie had made for his daughter (I believe) and how the gift had brought them so much closer. I am not sure that I recall now exactly who the afghan was given too, but I think it was his daughter. Anyway, it was such a touching story, as many of Maggie's stories were, and she told me that she wanted Bernie to make a special afghan for her special and beloved sister Nan. :-)

I am running out of computer time, the clock is ticking away here, but wanted to tell you that I was thrilled to see that you have the afghan Maggie and I discussed. What a gift of love that is. When I get home, I will locate and send you the freepmail where Maggie told me about Bernie and the story behind his afghan gifts.
