Cynthia McKinney Missing In Action

Rep. Cynthia McKinney was a no-show this week in the U.S. House, as WSB Washington Correspondent Jamie Dupree reports that the Georgia Democrat missed all four days of legislative business and every vote on the House floor as well.

McKinney's office offered no comment as to why the Congresswoman did not return to Washington after Tuesday's primary election, where she was forced into an August 8th runoff against Hank Johnson.

Also left unanswered Thursday night was whether McKinney would be back at the U.S. Capitol next week. The House has one more week of work before a scheduled August break.

McKinney missed 19 votes over four days on the House floor, including an attempted override of President Bush's veto of a bill dealing with embryonic stem cell research, a constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage and a bill designed to prevent federal courts from ruling on the constitutionality of the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Georgia Democrat has missed nearly 11 percent of the 393 recorded votes in the U.S. House so far in 2006.

According to the Congressional Record, McKinney did have official permission to miss votes on Monday and Tuesday of this week, what is known as a "Leave of Absence." There was no notice of any request being granted for Wednesday's session of the House.

Perhaps she went to Lebanon to be with her Muslim brothers to fight against the Zionists.

Congresscritter Cynthia "Looter Girl" McKinney (D-4-GA).

I still can't believe this hobag's got a stretch of highway named after her. Turns my stomach every time I have to drive near it, when I visit Atlanta. Then again, if you saw the stretch of highway, you'd understand...

Her district in Dekalb County (suburban Atlanta) is very largely black, but there's also a fair number of older people who live there and probably don't appreciate her antics. My grandmother-in-law (a white 85-year-old classic Georgia steel magnolia) lives in her district, so I'm rooting harder than most for Jihad Cindy to lose. That district WILL be represented by a Rat, no matter what, so it might as well be a sane one.

= = =

Should we interpret that to mean that she demanded sex so she could feel like a WOman again and the guy promptly filed a sexual harrasment and torture suit?

I think you're right. I heard a fair number of interviews after her recent assault of the Capitaol Hill policeman that some were re-thinking their past automatic vote for her. My sense has been for some time that African-Americans tend to be conservatives personally and very, very decent people who have just voted poltically liberal in the past. Shenanigans like hers have consequences. Not showing up for "the people's work" will not help her. I don't know that it will keep her from winning, but it certainly will not win her more votes.
