This guy is a joke. I knew that when he actually suggested he thought Bush was going to take over the country and be a dictator.

But at least he's intellectually honest enough to own up to the fact his prediction didn't come true. Most others I've read with that fear simply go about trying to make every nuance of the situation fit their way of seeing things. He has some good ideas, and it's much easier for me to explore his ideas when he admits, up front, that he was wrong.

The major change would probably be that near-term shift of power to the executive. But I'd have to qualify that by saying it hasn't been nearly as bad as I was afraid it was going to be. People predicted that we were going to suspend the Constitution, we'd suspend habeas corpus like we did during the Civil War, and the president would become an elected dictator. That, fortunately, didn't happen. Or at least hasn't happened yet
= = = =

Uhhhhh, he didn't say that. He left it quite unclear HOW MUCH he agreed with "People predicted . . . "

Regardless, I found his analyses refreshingly different from the routine ones. I think he made some good points.

Our founding fathers did have a big wise aversion to large standing armies. Our founding fathers did have some serious valid concerns about our destroying ourselves from within.

And, the stuff about privatizing armies . . . for say Dahfur etc. . . . Mexico? . . . LA ? ? ? Interesting stuff.

When the OVERT global war hits our shores bigtime, we may see a lot of such 'privatizing' a la RED DAWN etc. And I said WHEN . . . as in our lifetime . . . and sadly, probably sooner than a great deal later.

I wouldn't want to call the author a doctrinaire conservative. But it's not clear which side of that line he's on. He seems to have some patriotic concerns for our country.

He didn't address, what, to me were serious omissions--the consequences of pulling out of the MEast . . . seemingly implying that they were less than staying.

I'm also reluctant to decrease our military investment though I'm certain the waste is astronomical. I would like to see it removed from the hands of traitorous bureaucrats and traitorous 'military-industrial complex' folks in Ike's terms.

But then I'd like to see all judgships and the Supreme Court staffed exclusively by wise, humble laymen who'd never touched a law course textbook.

The oligarchy is real. It's insideous. It's determined to set up a traitorous, tyrannical global government. And it's infected all our elected institutions to varying degrees. I think the Senate is fairly wholesale taken over by the oligarchy. And the other centers of federal and State power are enough infected to render them at least problematic if not destructive to our Republic, as well.

And the author didn't address that much at all. Perhaps he's hoping the privitizing of armies proceeds rapidly enough to give the oligarch's some competition. That would be interesting indeed but a bit like private armies of mice taking on an African elephant herd.

So, DHerion, what's your solution to the tyrannical oligarchy rushing the world into a tyrannical global government? Please avoid bothering to respond if you don't believe it's happening.

Most of these guys who make a living "studying" islamoterrorist make them into the impossible to handle and a great mystery of their origins and power.

They can be killed from the top to the bottom and who orders and controls them is no real secret:
