At the moment, it's quiet in this part of Baghdad.
When the quiet gets interrupted, it's always rather sudden. We've been experiencing that over the last few days. They've been a little active in this part of town.
I woke up at about 1:45 this morning (let's just say I had sucked down a lot of water before going to bed), and as I groped, still mostly asleep towards the bathroom, I heard a huge "BOOOM!" from somewhere nearby and my windows rattled real good.
I just muttered, "Knock it off, you bastards," washed my hands and went back to bed. Haven't heard what it was yet.
Fox&Friends showed a temperature chart of Iraq yesterday. Consuming mass quantities of water sounds very necessary. Whewwwweeeeee, HOT! Mosul was at 120 degrees.
