The man accused of murdering two women and two children told police he drank too much alcohol, blacked out and awoke to find himself in their Kirkland house covered in blood, police said today.
The 24-year-old man, who was identified in jail records as Conner Michael Schierman, said he then doused the house in gasoline and set it on fire Monday morning to cover up the crime, police said.
When investigators caught up with the man, he had several injuries as if he'd had to defend himself, including wounds on his neck and face and a puncture wound on his left forearm, police said.
He initially told investigators he was injured trying to break up some sort of domestic fight at a convenience store early Tuesday morning, though the store's surveillance footage showed it wasn't true, police said.
Schierman will face aggravated murder charges on Monday for his actions, King County prosecutors announced this afternoon. At his first court appearance this afternoon, his bail was set at $4 million.
Jail records show the Kirkland man was booked at 12:01 a.m. today for investigation of four counts of homicide and one count of arson.
National Guard Sgt. Leonid Milkin arrived back from Iraq today to see his burned-out home where his wife and two children and sister-in-law were killed, according to The Associated Press.
The medical examiner has identified those who died as Olga Milkin, 28, Lyubov Botvina, 24, who also lived in the house, and Olga's two sons, Justin Milkin, 5, and Andrew Milkin, 3.
Olga's husband, Sgt. Leonid Milkin, 29, is a member of the 341st Military Intelligence Battalion, most of which is in Afghanistan, but Milkin has been on special assignment in Baghdad since September and is currently assigned to the 415th Military Intelligence Battalion. He has returned...

This guy needs to be put down....TODAY!! The owner of the house is serving in Iraq...I think it was his daughter in law and grandkids that were killed.
A BS defense. Been tried several places. Doesn't work. The main point is that the defendant VOLUNTARILY got drunk.
Heaven help that poor man.
An I have a bridge to sell.
Well, if he was drunk, he can't be held responsible for his actions.
Right?
The owner of the house is serving in Iraq and is due home today. It was his wife, two kids (3 and 5 yrs old) and sister-in-law that were slaughtered in the house.
Sue the alcohol companies!!!!
Russian? Vodka.
OMG!! I read that it was his daughter in law and grandkids. Sorry.
Alcohol is merely his current excuse. First he was breaking up a fight, now he's in an alcohol blackout. If they prove that's not true, he'll claim something else.
Responsible? I don't know.
Accountable? Most assuredly!
What a horrible situation!! May God have mercy on the souls of all involved.
So just how does one kill people (or do anything for that matter) while blacked out? Does the body's autonomous nervous system kick in?
"Alcoholic Blackout" usually refers to the loss memory associated with significant alcohol use.
That must have been one heck of a bender.
Let him out of jail and let the Sarge take care of him.
This story stinks. You just dont get drunk and find yourself in a strange house. Was he sneaking in on the Sgt's wife? was he a friend of the family? One thing I would bet on. Theres more to this than we have so far.
