Minutemen skeptical of ties with Keyes project (Funding Questions)
The Washington Times ^ | 7-20-06 | Jerry Seper

Posted on 07/20/2006 12:08:29 AM PDT by Anti-Bubba182

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps calls itself a "project of the Declaration Alliance," although few MCDC volunteers know what the alliance does or why Minuteman donations are routed through the charity founded and headed by conservative activist Alan Keyes.

Several Minuteman leaders and members questioned the wisdom of ceding control over fundraising to the Herndon-based Declaration Alliance, part of an intricate weave of conservative organizations founded and chaired by Mr. Keyes or tied to longtime Keyes associates working with MCDC.

MCDC President Chris Simcox told The Washington Times that the alliance offers "an experienced organization for mass mailings, advertising and public relations" and the ability to conduct a "fully accredited and independent audit" of MCDC finances.

Mr. Simcox said he "checked these people out very carefully before agreeing to work with them" and that he made the "correct decision" in hiring "clean professional consultants, accountants and media professionals." He did not, however, disclose during an interview last week or in a 3,961-word follow-up statement how much Declaration Alliance and its affiliated organizations have been paid for their services

During the interview, he said, "Not one cent of MCDC money has been spent on alliance projects." The statement, released on the MCDC Web page, www.minutemanhq.com/hq/, does not mention Declaration Alliance or Mr. Keyes. ...."

"..Diener Consultants first contacted the Minuteman organization in early 2005, said Ms. Hair, the MCDC spokeswoman who also was a top adviser to Mr. Keyes in his presidential and senatorial races. She said she called Mr. Simcox after the Minuteman group was created to ask whether he had a media plan. After being told no, she said, she met with Mr. Simcox and Minuteman co-founder James Gilchrist in Washington and signed an agreement...."

You just LOVE to waste bandwidth, EV, which I hope that you are going to pay for.

It's just that he learned a new HTML trick & had to try it out.

You know how kids are when they get new toys?

Sure they're related. There's only one Lewis family in the United States, right?

Refresh my mind, who was Kay Daly?

Kay Daly is someone who has worked diligently for the conservative cause on Capitol Hill for years, in close cooperation with our reliable conservative members of the US Senate...particularly on matters of judicial nominations.

Such a stellar conservative individual sounds like a perfect target for your pack.

Sure it does, EV, empty of filled with words, bandwidth is still bandwidth!

Still lying about the way I type/have always typed and posted here, I see. Anyone can easily go take a look at FR's archives and see that you are lying and doing so, because you have have nothing else to say. You have two modes...throwing a hissy fit and spuriously writing about my supposed older typing. LOL

As to the mouse...I'm better at it than I used to be, but I really don't use it much. After all, with a laptop, I don't have the need to; as far as I can tell. :-)

Well all this research has given me a idea. I think we all need to start something called the Freedom Republic alliance. The goal shall be the advancement of conservative values.
Amelia you can head the alliance and receive a salary, I will establish the caging company out of my PO box and take my percent. Nopardons you can handle the direct mail and so you can get a check. Rex we need a marketing firm so you can be that and you can get paid. TexasForever we need a accountant and a registered agent so you can receive a check. antibubba we need a management firm and another consultant so you will get paid. At the end of the day there should just enough to send give one local library a subscription to National Review

Perhaps if we want to go the PAC way, there will be enough to send Sen Santorum a check for 50 bucks. At least that seems how that is suppose to work. But we all know where we can go for expert advice I suppose. OF course we shall be partners in each other companies.

Once we duplicate this 20 times we can all retire. It is better than amway. PLus we have been told that such a arrangement is entirely ethical and on board
