Thanks for the ping Albion....sorry about the hard drive!
Love to see these pics & reports. My hat is off to the DC Chapter & all those who attend to support the Troops!
It's a slippery slope. A healthy rivalry is a good thing, but trouble begins with the back and forth name-calling, and ends with tire slashings and worse. Been there, done that.
The secret to success in this arena is to rise above the fray, by supporting your cause, rather than engaging in direct confrontation.
Hope you can make it.
A lonely Canuck conservative, eh? Thanks for your post!
Oh dear, so sorry to hear about your drive.
Way to FReep! You all are too clever!
Burma Shaved their Code Pink butts...
Cheers - Dinah
Jimmy Valentine's brother was the Original Mastermind of the Burma Shave plan more than a year ago (with a different message). But I dallied and dawdled and never got the signs mission-ready before the Code PinkOs were kicked off their corners.
It was two weeks ago that the idea was reborn, and was a group effort, from concept to delivery.
And most importantly, it did serve to educate the passing motorists of what lay ahead; and the number of car honks for the recently flag-waving PinkOs was noticeably diminished last Friday night.
And the reaction from the pedestrian traffic (mostly military folks heading out for dinner or back in from dinner) was great, too. They got a real kick out of our education campaign.
Jimmy Valentine's Brother BUMP!
All better now. That's why God created back-up systems! I did lose a couple of small details, but after searching around online, I found one of them this afternoon:
Seeing our four-corner banners and signs, a passing cab driver called out to GunsAreOK "Why didn't you do this when we were in Vietnam?"
You folks always come up with the best ways to drive those code Pinkos out of what's left of their minds.
Code Pink is waging a worse-than-mean-spirited psychological war against our wounded troops and their loved ones at Walter Reed. Their behavior over the past year, their choice of signs, and their choice of location all indicate that they don't just want to oppose the war in Iraq. It indicates that they want to demoralize our wounded troops, their families, the general public and our elected officials. They want us (the US) to lose. They want us to give up. They want us to cut and run.
And if their tactics outside Walter Reed causes a wounded soldier or a distraught family member to lose all hope in their life, that's OK by them.
They want to win their war against the US at any cost.
They are worse than hags. But Jim Robinson has rules about profanity, so we tamed down our terminology.
Great! I am going to try...I figure if I leave here at 0800 I can make it in time...:)
Ever since I saw all of you doing this, I wanted to come down once...at least once to say thank you to all of you in person, and to show my support.
That's fantastic! Great idea, those burma shave signs!
You have freepmail.
Thank you for all you do.
FGS
God bless you all real good!
Are there places to park on the street?
BUMP! for a CLASSIC!
