"Should U.S. public awareness of the threat environment increase the Bush administration could potentially come under criticism for having underestimated (or ignored) the growing threat. That same public will want to know why so little has been accomplished to date."

Like I have been saying!

Unless of course they are RATs...we will never see this sentiment expressed for the evening news...

National defense is no longer a major priority in DC. They do a lot of talking and threatening but I don't think the will to actually win is there.

When I heard the word "restraint" echoing in the newcasts after Israel was attacked I thought to myself that this sick idea of espousing international/global citizenship ie. Europe, had corrupted their minds.

Asking me to trust people who are anti Christian and whose loyalties are totally dissimilar to mine isn't going to happen no matter how compassionate our Commander in Chief may be. I will never champion the Russian, Chinese or Muslim beliefs, belittle the need for national sovereignty nor will I ever advocate the lack of need for strongly defended national borders.

I am proud of our culture and it sickens me to see it that we refuse to prosecute traitorous behavior by our executive state and national political executives.

We have many men such as William T. Lee in America. Unfortunately they are all getting too old to do more than make us aware of our deficiencies. I seriously doubt that there will be one response to this thread by someone under the age of 55. The younger generation has had there minds corrupted, in my view, by television and public education.

We need more men such as Norman Schwarzkopf, John Bolton, Jim Gilchrist and Tom Tancredo leading us if America is to stand for freedom. Currently we represent a nation that is unwilling to defend our laws, our borders nor our sovereignty which is very depressing to me. We still are the best country in the world but I think that title is slipping away.

I am not one who can remember the contruction of a new military base here in the US but I certainly do recall the closure of far too many. We have not won a war since I was born in '47. Yes, we've won damn near every military battle but the will to win the war has escaped from our grasp.

I pray we support Israel in her fight for freedom. Those men are giving the world a good lesson on how to kick ass and take names.

Thanks for reading my rant.

The US has no business signing treaties when we know the other signatories cant be trusted. The way I see it,it only buys the enemy time to try and upstage us.In secret of course, with a smile on their faces.[While the knife is stuck into our backs.]We as Americans know we can barely trust our own government, let alone the likes Of China,Russia, etc.Lord knows what gifts Clinton gave the Chinese, let alone any other country. We need to get on the fast track,or heaven help us.Thanks for the informative post. Here all along,I was under the impression we had been seriously dedicated to this program.
