Don't forget most "modern" conservatives believe it is OK to fund moral "absolutes" by gouging taxpayers. I don't think taxpayers should fork the bill for things that push my personal social agenda

Then you do support the President's veto of this bill, right?

btw, can you give an example of something that 'modern' conservatives want the taxpayers to fund?

As a long time moral and fiscal conservative, I'd like to know what you're referring to.

Yes I do enthusiastically !

Ok.. How about farm bill- a massive injection of funds into rural communities at the expense of the taxpayer. Do you believe good descent rural folk that can't compete deserve a special treatment ? Most modern conservatives do. What about Tariff's on steel from the chinese ( Punishing the consumer) to help AMERICAN producers as many modern conservatives demanded. Programs to reduce number of teenage pregnancies and abortions ( whilst fantastic) are NOT something the taxpayers should have to fork out for. BTW I acknowledge that the Liberals gouge the taxpayers far far more cruelly and consistently and there are many conservatives fed up with the government spending like a drunken sailor..
