Where is that written or mandated? Sounds for sure like a commodity right there.

Not mandated, but most people have a self-interest in maximizing the value and benefit of being human. Given that, the rest falls out of mathematics and economics. As communists have discovered, you cannot forcibly alter economic behavior independent of outcomes.

To put it another way, the market is already driven to maximize human value and benefit and has adapted accordingly. Manipulating the market by fiat will inevitably reduce human value and benefit, as always predicted by theory and as always happens in practice. The value of markets is that it creates incentives for others to recognize and realize the value of a given human that they otherwise might not have.

Just because you do not like the idea of humans as commodities does not make it untrue as a matter of fact nor does it make it an inefficient way to maximize human value and benefit -- the nominal goal.
