Get it?

Ohhhh, now I get it! Thanks Ohio!

I cannot believe some of the garbage I've read on this thread. I'm sitting here shaking my head.

A zygote is not a human being.

A human zygote is a human being....

Except perhaps in your case. What were you originally, an orangutan?

It's still a friendly discussion.

I'm not accusing anyone, nor even implying that you would support Nazi experimentation, but you asked if I thought there were any benefit in embryonic research, and that was an obvious, if extreme comparison. I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear that there was no accusation of you in my reply. (I see why you thought there was).

My point was, that it doesn't really matter, since there is a higher value than the results of the research, and that is the sanctity of the life that it snuffs out.

I know they don't like to hear it, but the garbage emanates from the leftist control of our educational system.

These unsuspecting souls think that they have gotten an 'objective' education, when in truth, they have been brainwashed.

I see that a lot, even in my own family. It is a sad commentary on our educational system, if you ask me.

And people go ga-ga over this single one.

Ppl have their own priorities. For pro-life conservatives, this is a happy day, just as I was happy when Sam Alito was confirmed. I wouldn't say I went ga ga, but I was happy. And that didn't negate my displeasure at the president's failings. But shouldn't ppl be allowed to celebrate successes?

This is really getting comical. Hypothetically, if you were correct and the rest of us dead wrong on the facts, you would still have to be declared the loser of this debate based on the way you are presenting your argument. You really sound like a madman.

I am making scientific points, while you and OhioWBot are spouting religious doctrine about when life begins. Neither of you adress this biological phenomena of dividing zygotes, you simply state that you are correct, declare victory, and call names.

I see nothing in my argument that would make me sound like a madman. I am asking you both to address the point, but obviously you cannot. If "life" begins at conception, if it has a soul as others pointed out, then explain how twins are formed. Explain how two separately fertilized eggs can merge together to form and develop into one human being.

You're right. When a couple chooses to use invitro fertilization, just dispose of those extra bundles of cells/embryos/whatever anyone wants to call them. Please don't allow the couple to donate them for possible research.

It's actually proof of the resounding 'success' of the educational system.

They have managed to turn out non-thinking liberals who believe themselves to be conservatives, and don't have the logical wherewithal to see what has happened.

Academia has prevailed.

Yes, it's the evil "leftists"! LOL!

Continuing to ignore the dividing zygote question, I see.

You must be kidding?? Embryonic stem cells have caused more harm than good. It was a brain tumor from this treatment that killed Christopher Reeve.
This so-called curative threatment is years and years and millions of embryo testing to prove helpful. To farm out embryos by women to experiment with is ghastly. Adult stem cells have PROVEN to show huge advances in curative potential and this is where the "experiments" should be invested...NOT by creating life to destroy it in the hopes of something that may perhaps someday show an incling of a potential.
There is a reason ESC have not worked and I believe it is Devine intention.

Yes, and it took 40 years of government funding to get there.

No, you are ignoring the question just like someone who has realized their entire argument on an issue has collapsed.

If the gain from research is potentially so great and the embryos were unlikely to become fully fledged humans then I am in favor. I guess in some ways i am arbitrarily picking and choosing which life is more worthy than the other. I think sometimes unpleasant choices do have to be made that may not be completely defensible but are the best long term option. Why are embryos different from humans is like why is the voting age 18 and not 17 years and 11 months. You sometimes have to draw a line somewhere. For me this is it if the research potential is so great.

Yikes Ohio! I read that first line and thought, oh no, they got to her. ;*)

Good to see you still had the ability to bring it on home. It is so sad while being so very true.

LOL! You lost this 'argument' before you entered it, LL.

And with every post you sank farther and farther into the abyss......

Now go find a sperm blob and make it turn into a human life, KAY???
