"I have always wondered WHY someone did not build a patriotic, pro-American, real American newspaper?? It would sell beyond belief. With all the investment money that is available, it could be easily done."
The point is, we now have all these really great Conservative blogs, web news sites, like Powerlineblognews, the new improved Townhall.com etc etc.
Why bother starting a newspaper when you can go straight to the web?
And already sites like Powerlineblognews and Hotair have started adding videos online, and Townhall.com has its its attached radio program with Hugh Hewitt. I think these outfits are going to take a bigger slice of where Americans get their news and political commentary from.

No wonder the homosexual marxist/pro Islamofascist elites at the NY Slimes hate the Bush presidents. Their stock got hammered in Bush I and when GW was re elected in 2004 and since then.

Make sure that everyone who reads this thread tries to divest themselves of this stock. I owned a mutual fund that had the NYT as one of its stocks until grampa dave pointed it out to me. Do yourselves a favor and DIVEST NYT STOCK!!!
This is something, we can all do this week to start eliminating the NY Slimes as a threat to our nation's security. We can do it at our computers and do it in less than 1 hour. Besides sending a severe warning to the NY Slimes and the mutual fund companies who buy NY Slimes stock, we will improve our precious investment capital being wasted on NY Slimes stock.
If a few thousand freepers did this simple action this week and a few thousand new freepers, friends and relatives each following week, we will have a terminal impact on the NY Slimes acts of sedition. Please send this how to your blogs, friends, relatives and email lists. This action will serve as a cannon shot across the bows fo the other Dinosaur Liberal Fish Wraps re sedition will not be tolerated any more.
INSTRUCTIONS FROM Grampa Dave:
Want to smash the NY Slimes? Check your mutual funds to see if they own NYT, the NY Slimes Stock
How many of us own mutual funds which own NY Slimes stock and even worse have increased their NYT holdings this year. NYT investment by a mutual fund company is a terrible investment re the dollar loss in Stock value the last 2 years. Those investments are an attempt to keep the NY Slimes afloat with our mutual fund $'s. Now it is very evident that the NY Slimes is an agent and abettor of the al Qaeda Serial Killers. The Slimes is endangering the lives of our families, friends, innocent Americans and every warrior of ours. Go to this link to see if your mutual fund owns NYT. http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/invsub/ownership/ownership.asp When the MS Money stock home page comes up, enter NYT into the search area and hit enter and the following screen will show up re ownership of the NY Slimes stock: The New York Times Company: Ownership Information
- Shares Outstanding 145.00 Mil
- Institutional Ownership (%) 83.40
- Top 10 Institutions (%) 58.60
- Mutual Fund Ownership (%) 42.64
- 5%/Insider Ownership (%) 7.77
- Float (%)
Highlight the Mutual Fund Ownership and hit enter. If thousands of Freepers, whose mutual funds own shares of NY Slimes did the following:
- Sell those mutual funds or trade them for funds not owning NYT.
- Send a letter to the fund managers and the CEO's of the mutual fund company telling them why you sold/transferred their mutual fund owning NY Slimes stock. Then demand to know why they are wasting your precious $'s on a treason/sedition company which is a terrible investment.
- Contact the SEC to investigate why this mutual fund and mutual fund company invested your $'s in one of the worse investments of the past 2 years. Was the investment of yours and others a political bailout of the NY Slimes.
- Send this how to re Mutual Funds with NYT stock to everyone on your email list for a wakeup call.
We might have a lot more impact than trying to boycott companies which sell to the elite liberals of NYC and advertise in the NY Slimes. |

"Saw some dopey dame on Fox News yesterday trying to explain the losses on the internet"
Saw her too.
She sounded like the kind of dame that will be in denial in perpetuity, no matter what evidence she has staring her in the face, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Let The Slimes people and the moonbats keep living in denial, and keep up with their rabid anti-American agenda..till they find themselves 10 feet under water.

"So their gonna spend $150MM to save $42MM???? "
Hey it will only take them about 4 years to recap this great venture.
This is typical Arthur Andersen/Enron/Clintoon era bs to convince stock owners to hang on or to justify a left wing mutual fund manager to buy NYT as a value stock. There is no value in buying a "buggy whip" company. It is like trying to catch a very sharp Japanese chef knife after you drop it. You may catch it and then lose a finger or end up with a lot of stiches and maybe permanent damage.

Not until they sell their stake in the Boston Red Sox.
To: Jameison
Good point. While the Time's loss of readership is certainly good news, other major print papers have also been losing reader (some exceptions have been pointed out here), just as the Big-3 TV networks have been losing viewership. The WSJ announced today that it will have advertising on the front page: part of the same phenomenom the Slimes is facing.
The internet, bloggers, etc. have rendered the pundits, like the NYT, Dan Rather, etc. obsolete. They can no longer get away with their biased reporting, as they are immediately outed by right-thinking patriots, including Freepers!

The alternative to the Times already exists: The New York Sun is a classy competitor with a conservative bent; beautifully designed, great arts pages, great editorials... and it's only a quarter.
But you can only get it in the city, and it's struggling to get readership. Those who can should absolutely buy it!!!
