My 6yr old daughter wears boxer shorts over her bathing suit, says they are light and comfortable. She plays with a lot of boys and does almost everything they can do but is fully aware she is a girl. She doesnt like to be called a tomboy either. I had one son who wore his ghostbuster outfit and snowboots one whole summer, he is fine and in college now. He still loves that movie. I did get many odd looks that summer though.
