One the Dem side, Taylor is leading even without a single precinct from DeKalb or Fulton. That one is over.

thank you so much for the thread and link. It's great fun to be able to yell out to my husband who's ahead. He's in the family room, and he yells back, "Andrew Jones just got a home run." Braves v Politics in our house.

I swear, the secrets to a happy marriage are separate televisions and separate computers!

I am still amazed at Dems holding any State wide offices.

You mean 159 counties?

You have to count the six imaginary counties in Cynthia McKinney's district.

Silly me, how could I have forgotten those?

Looking like they'll be a Handels-Stephens runoff for SoS.

I've got the Braves on a small set and they are winning 5-0.

Multi-tasking...........

With a 5-0 lead they just better keep the bullpen in the bullpen. 5 runs is not nearly enough with our relief pitchers.

I'm still checking the SOS site for McKinney and Gwinnet and Rockdale counties. Nothing yet. Come on Rockdale/Gwinnett.

I did a paper (for college) about 20 years ago on the Republican realignment in the South.

I said that it would take quite a while for the GOP to make in-roads at the state level (legislature, constitutional offices, sheriff, etc.) because of the decades of in-built Democrat voter identification.

There's a lot of voters out there who will vote GOP for President, Congress and now Governor. But on the lower part of the ballot, they're still reflexively voting Dem.

That will change (as it has changed already) but it will be a while yet before the GOP can assume total dominance at the local and state levels.
