See post 135. Pretty well the thinking in most of Georgia.

Reed did great things, but was more beatable in the Gov race 4 years from now. Keeping it Republican is the game plan.

She was hilarious

The only thing about Corrine! that ever made me laugh was the way she told her illiterate voters in 2000 to mark the ballot where they saw Gore and Brown...forgetting that Harry Browne was the libertarian candidate for Pres... 2000 double punched presidential ballots were invalidated in Duval county.

Back under 50 now with 12 percent in. This'll be a nail-biter.

Having two candidates facing McKinney is actually better, since it increases the likelihood that she won't get 50%+1 tonight and thus go into a run-off. In the run-off, my understanding is that Republicans who voted in today's GOP primary will not be able to vote, but that Republicans who did not vote today (as well as those who voted in the Democrat primary) *would* be able to vote.

Looks like the effects of redrawn district have not been counted yet.

McKinney wins. Too many outstanding DeKalb precincts.

I am now in Texas having left GA three months ago. I hope she gets beat but I doubt it. In a way she could be considered an asset for us. She is such a rabid jew-hater/racist.

so funny. I spent many a summer decades ago, in Bartlet, visiting my aunt on Munson Road. Good good memories!

Thanks for keeping the updates posted.

Braves 10-0. Announcer said they're like an old 60's radio station, "The hits just keep on coming".

How come you all don't want Reed?

I think he is corrupt. He comes across as very smarmy. And I don't think he can win statewide.

I wish there was a map somewhere that showed which precincts were reporting. It would be easier to gauge what this means so far.

Is this 5 or 6 in a row with 10+ runs scored?

I voted in Alpharetta at 1:00 this afternoon. I was the lone voter at the polling place.

We have a very dirty Alpharetta City Council race and I figured more people would be interested to vote.

I decided to vote for Ralph Reed in the Lt. Gov race. Reed reminds me of the "Greg Stillson" character from The Dead Zone but John Smoltz told me to vote for Reed in a recorded call. Smoltzy's support swung me over to Reed.

Sadly, DeKalb. It's the most Democratic county in the state, even moreso than Fulton (downtown Atlanta).

"This election is just a warm-up for the next Governor's race and long range most thought Cagle was the best bet to keep the seat Republican."

Personally, I'd like to see Cagle stay at Lt. Gov. for 4 additional years and have Herman Cain as the 2010 GOP gubernatorial nominee. Unless he's elected President in 2008, of course . . . .
