Lord Keynes retorted to a complaint about the adverse, long-run effects of deficits that, "In the long run we are all dead".
Of course that was convenient for Keynes since his sexual proclivities were such that he died without children. Naturally, he felt no concern about the burden of debt that his policy prescriptions placed on future generations.
"Naturally, he felt no concern about the burden of debt that his policy prescriptions placed on future generations."
How is that any different from the last two generations of lawmakers and the people that have put them in office?
With respect to fiscal restraint, the FDR generation is without a doubt the most irresponsible generation in US history but ironically they decry the irresponsibility of today's youth. We see the crop that their seeds have sown in the debt which runs into the trillions, the debt which many generations after them will be paying off.
