Buchanan is one of the most dishonest commentators around. He is an anti-semite lover of Father Coughlin who can't admit his true feelings. In this one sentence, he completely distorts the situation, somehow "forgetting" WHY Israel attacked the terrorists working out of Lebanon.

He is a piece of work; there's no doubt about that.

"Don't leave out the radical right wing "Amen Corner" Christians. They deserve some credit too."

Shhhhhhhh. That's supposed to be a s-e-c-r-e-t! :))

I read that after Syria entered Lebanon all groups were disarmed except Hezbollah. I think that if the Christians were properly armed, Hezbollah would be otherwise occupied and wouldn't have enough left over to attack Israel. Of course, it would mean a continuing debilitating civil war. Either way, Lebanon loses, but I would rather see the Christians given a chance. With luck, Israwl might damage Hezbellah so severely that the Lebanese military can actually take control of the borders.

Israel is surrounded by people who have pledged to destroy them as a people and a nation, a nation whose existance was agreed on by a UN mandate. These people never let the pressure up.

Yes, the cost of life is sad and grevious.

BUT WHO STARTED IT????

and who's writing sad stories of the people in Haifa and other towns who have been hurt, killed, injured?

How would you feel, looking at your loved ones and knowing just a few miles down the road there are people who were stockpiling weapons, who have a huge confraternity that straddles multiple nations all focused on killing you and your loved ones and denying you a place to live?

And who writes that story up?

A five year old girl AND her grandmother were killed in Israel last week when a rocket slammed into their home as they set down to dinner.

Did I start your tears flowing again?

"Benedict XVI always urged great restraint before any nation went to war"

So give me some numbers. How many kidnapped soldiers and how many rocket attacks must Israel endure before they go to war? At what point must restraint give way to self defense? Numbers please!

Pat lost whatever sympathy I had for his views a very long time ago.

This is outrageous.

I've met Pat in person and really like him. But his constant anti-Israeli, anti-Jew nonsense gets very old with me. He's as predictable as an Arab or a Democrat, and that's who he's siding with here.

"Now, Israel's rampage against a defenseless Lebanon"

That's only a partial truth. Lebanon may not be able to stand against Israel, however, even as I type, rockets continue to drop on Israeli cities from "defenseless" southern Lebanon. And to my knowledge, the Israeli soldiers who were kidnapped by "defenseless" terrorists from Lebanon have yet to be freed.

And if Pat is wondering where the Christians are, he should look to Iraq and Afghanistan. There are thousands of them who lost their lives, and tens of thousands of them who liberated people from savage and brutal Islamic regimes.

We are taking the fight to them, instead of fighting terrorists here. That's the short version and I have no time to explain further.

No, no, SJackson!

Remember, when being derogatory, crafty is an acceptable negative descriptor for Jews, but Christians must be described as fundamentalist, bellicose, intolerant or apocalyptic cult.

Pfffttt...Everyone knows that!

It's important to keep in mind that, for the true isolationists like P Bucky, it's always a conspiracy. Now, the crafty Jews and the manipulative leaders of the fundamentalist Christians are working with the Freemasons, and the Rotarians, and the Lion's Clubs, and the UN to impose a one world government.

They control all the doctors, dentists and satellities, which is why you can't trust medical diagnoses, why you must rip out fillings and why you can't use that damn new-fangled technology. Like the tele-phonographs, and those crazy inter-nets.

Make a tin foil hat, and sit in your bunker, and everything will be alllll right.

Why is it that everyone complains about "Bush Policy" but it is the Carter, Reagan, Bush1, Clinton policy that failed.

Peace to muslims in the Middle East means giving your sisters and children as hostages.

And, what is the POLICY of Pat Buchannon? Pull out, pull back, let Israel get wiped off the map? Become an oil hostage to the Iranian mafia? Oh, and what about the Columbian surrogate?

What is their POLICY?

Note the article in post 55. They were serving for a brutal, aggressive colonial regeime, Comrade Wolf in Putinspeak, the United States to the rest of us.

"Now, Israel's rampage against a defenseless Lebanon "

Lebanon is a geographic expression.

The territory called "Lebanon" has a non-functioning government which can't control the majority of tis citizens who are either Hezebollah terrorists or Muslims, who, by definition, support Hezebollah.

"Defenseless Lebanon" is launching rocket attacks on Israel and kidnapped Israeli soldiers and is permitting Iranian operataives to strike a U.S. ally from its territory. Not that Lebanon could do anything about it since the Lebanese government, like most governments in the Middle East, Israel solely exxcepted, represent nothing but their own interests.

You might find the article in post 55 interesting. Iran is, after all, an abused but peaceful nation.

"But where are the Christians? Why is Pope Benedict virtually alone among Christian leaders to have spoken out against what is being done to Lebanese Christians and Muslims?"

He is misled and misinformed. And I'm sure the Methodists, Presbyterians and Episcopalians, among others, are just chomping at the bit to get into the act.

The real Christians understand that sometimes you have to confront evil and fight it, and in the process evil people, those who support them, and innocent people around them are killed. Its called a "just" war.

If we didn't understand that, we would all be speaking German or Japanese or made into lampshades by now.

Sheesh. There is SO MUCH in that post that is just simply devoid of intelligence. I KNOW that Pat is an intelligent man, but good grief, how can he be so dense about Iran? Sure, they don't want an open war with the United States, but that hasn't stopped them from sneaking around and stabbing us in the back.
