BEIRUT Thousands of Americans whose vacations and business trips to Lebanon have degenerated with sickening speed into stints in a battle zone remained stranded here under Israeli bombardment Monday, their frustration and anger mounting because the U.S. government hasn't gotten them out faster.
Waiting around Beirut with bags packed and fingers crossed, U.S. citizens derided the embassy for busy phone lines, a lack of information and gnawing uncertainty over when and whether they will get out. Hundreds were expected to be shipped to Cyprus today, but how long the full evacuation will take remains uncertain.

Sorry , about your Dad . I understand why you weren't on yesterday . I did my best to help him but their was lot of disgusting hateful comments to rebel_yell2 !
Well, I'd better go get some stuff done around here so Mr. P doesn't think I just freeped all day :-)
Ping or freepmail me if you see other threads where we need to help Rebel. Thank you!
We've all been in situations like you have described. We all get grouchy and crabby and whiney. Then we get over it. It's a temporary state of mind.
I think if I were in RY2's shoes I would act a lot more panicky. He has a right to complain and grip. He's only human, and he's stuck in a war zone. Anything could happen. We don't know how this will escalate. No one has a crystal ball.
I Agree with that 100% !
I Just wished that Rebel_yell 2 who have had more encouraging words from fellow freepers yesterday .
I haven't been on a thread with you in forever. My major recollection of your posts is how obnoxious the tone of your posts is. Your posts haven't changed. Your posts are still obnoxious. Maybe that's why all those threads go silent when you arrive. You post obnoxiously. Your posts reek of obnoxiousness. People don't care to respond to your obnoxiousness. How's that? Admin may get me for saying this, but I guess it's worth it.
Me too.
I also meant to add that when anything could happen, I mean ANYTHING could happen. What if Hizb'allah decides to seek out foreigners in hotels and take hostages?
With all due respect Peach, he was worrying about himself before this happened. Perhaps he needs to find a new line of work?

Please wait until I get out of this war zone. Hamas does not want or know how to govern and is intent upon throwing things into total chaos. Their participation in this event is incontrovertable evidence, but there is much much more.

You all might find this damn funny, but my sorry ass is marooned in Beirut, where I have been working for the IMF. If anybody has any helpful suggestions on how I can get out of this war zone, I would be most grateful. Right now, the road to Syria is the only way out of Lebanon for anyone, including U.S. citizens, and the Israelis are bombing that road. I am NOT happy with the Israelis right now. I understand their concerns about their kidnapped soldiers but bombing the Beirut Airport was not going to help them in any way.

I've read those posts, Krodg. And with all due respect, what exactly is it that is wrong with worrying about his life?
I have no intention of arguing with you, but I have to tell you, I don't see anything in those posts you linked that doesn't reflect exactly how I'd feel in a similar situation.
What's your point?
Or perhaps you just need to find a bit more compassion.
I work in healthcare and I can find time to gripe about a patient or two now and then. No one is perfect. And I'm not stuck in a warzone.
I Just hope rebel_yell2 has a safe journey home
If I was stuck in a war zone I Know I would have a bunch of stuff to be unhappy about .
I just wished yesterday when rebel_yell2 was posting he would have had more compassion shown to him .

I've been following Rebel's posts since last week when this all started and you have accurately stated that he supports Israel, the US, the military and is angry at the State Department (get in line on that one) and the jihadists.
He's at times disappointed with Israel with the closing of the port because it will make rescue efforts more difficult and time consuming.

He may support Israel most of the time, but when it comes to actions, he is for himself only. He posted on June 25th that he wanted Israel to wait until he left the war zone and then he posted from Lebanon on July 13th that he was NOT happy with Israel because they bombed the airport. I stand by my statement that he should find a new job.
Yes, I do hope he comes home safe.
LOL! You get the award for "Most Uses of "Obnoxious" In One Post"! Thanks!
I have a lot of compassion, that's why I often wake with 'O, Israel' on my lips. You don't know my prayer life or what I do to show compassion for the Lord's children.
God forbid he should think about himself while bombs are falling all around him.
Good point! </sarcasm>
Tell me. Did I get my message across? :^)
"And it's simply a fact that France has rescued far more citizens than America has rescued."
Of course they've rescued more citizens than us. They don't have to worry about being fire upon by their allies, Hezbollah.
It's been awfully quiet...by jove, I think you've got it!
I support Israel 100 %
But i would be frustated if I was stuck in Lebanon doing a job that helps others & people were misinterpeting my posts
I would hope most freepers would show rebel_yell2 Kindness .
