IDF is preparing the battle field. Wouldn't want Hizzbholla to be able to move the missiles/rockets as the Israeli ground troops advance.
That's true, but I think speculation of a huge operation into Lebanon is probably wrong. The Israelis are denying it, which means little at this point, but I'm not sure it makes sense.
What they need to do at the very least is isolate Southern Lebanon and do the house-to-house, cave-to-cave thing there very discretely with small units, almost commandos. With enough backup to take out any real resistance, but without the hundreds of tanks on the ground. Just quietly go in every night and check out a village. Kill the rockets, kill any Hezzies they find, and slip away. Repeat regularly until the Hezzies are so jumpy they've had enough or are al dead or disarmed. Surveillance of the Bekka and Syria to prevent resupply, with massive air interdiction of any resupply. Possibly commandos or airborne units into Bekka to check things out and do some blowing up.
