What bugs me is when I read something the same wrong way two or three times and don't "get it" until somebody brings it to my attention.

That's why it takes a very special person to be a proof reader. I used to work at the Tampa Tribune and I was always amazed at the copy editors who could spot a typo instantly when I had read and re-read something a dozen times just to avoid giving them the satisfaction of finding an error in my work.
