Ping
Seems pretty deep and far away from land so hope it doesn't cause too much trouble over there.
Head for the hill!
I was hoping it was to deep for a tsunami too - hope its small.
CNN said it was about 6' high.
I see the Bush/Rove Evil Weather & Disaster Machine is back online again.

Just heard on the 11am eastern....news that a few dozen people died in a tourist beach area.
Death toll up to 69, with many people still missing.
They are reporting now that 80 people have died.
Tsunami on Indonesia's Java coast kills 80 people
Tragic to think that they are again having tsunami devestation.
This news has been buried in all the other events of this day.
Very sad for these people.
Does this have anything to do with the volcano that erupted a few weeks ago?
Yes, but only in the sense that the plate techtonics in that region cause both earthquakes and volcanic activity.
It's two symptoms arising from the same underlying cause.
Interesting.
I see that Mt. Etna is popping out hot rocks today. Unrelated, I'm sure, but this has been a crazy week, and it's only just begun.
Is there some unusual conjunction of the stars and planets, or am I just getting old and weary and nervous about all this stuff?
No, you're probably just getting better information about stuff that has been happening all along but never made our local newspapers.
When Yellowstone looks like it's ready to blow, you have permission to worry.
