No he said exactly what most realistic people know to be the truth
I wish he was as clear more often
Would go a long way to bridge the gap between the Administration and the Conservative

sigh...Yes, that might be the standard flip answer. When I read the quote twice, I found it to be extremely clear and that I had been dead wrong on my first take.

Clearly, the President was referring to Iran. I initially thought Israel, but didn't read closely enough.

I guess I'm now qualified to be a major news anchor.

ugh.

He didn't do anything dumb. It was a private conversation with Tony Blair when Bush had a mouth full of food during a lunch break. The time for diplo speak is over. This crap has been going on too long and it's time for straight talk, bad words and all. Sometimes that's all people understand.

Or, how about -

"I don't know what they're complaining about. They're the ones who did the kidnapping!"

Not an open mike comment, but one that caused apoplexy in many politically correct corners.

Gawd, how I miss that guy!

How about Truman's response to the reporter who wrote an article on Margaret Truman's piano playing "talents"?

Sanitized for the family papers: "You do that again, and I'll punch you in the nose!"

What really transpired: "You do that again, and I'll bust your balls!"

Say what you will about Harry, he had good command of the King's English as well!

This developed as an acronym for "Ship High In Transit".

You got a problem with that?

I'm working my way through Truman's biography. I'm leaning toward believing that he was a genuine and sincere man.

Profanity is the crutch of the conversational cripple, Mr. President.

Down South here, that ain't profanity unless the word is used to indicate fecal material. It's kinda like "pi$$". Saying you're pi$$ed off ain't profane but using the word to indicate urination is.
Trite, subtle and silly, I'll admit, but that's the way it is. (oh, and I used "$$" in lieu of "ss" so's not to offend anyone.)

Sometimes one profanity expresses more than a hundred 'approved' words would.

Damn straight.

I arrived at the point very early in the Clinton years where, when he came on TV, I had to turn it off, I couldn't even look at him anymore.
--
I survived 8 years of Clinton and can't recall watching him on TV once. Learned to change the channel on the remote very, very fast!

There's nothing wrong with telling it like it is. He call's 'em as he sees 'em.
