She wasn't in Hollywood when she made these comments, but instead was hosting "The Big Story". She had a guest on that called Brokeback Mountain "a piece of trash". Julie retorted by saying "it's not trash, it's a wonderful story".
It is disappointing, but I've pretty much accepted the fact that any woman who is in the entertainment business or the news business has to be liberal in some required areas, like abortion and gay rights. If one doesn't come out in support of these things, and they're a woman, they might as well forget their prospects of getting anywhere. If there are conservatives who aspire to the top positions, they are weeded out before they can ever get close to the top.
You kind of made a sweeping statment there...
Besides, Julie also took on the woman that is from that Topeka Church..that protests at military funerals...and she did it by reciting scripture.
She has been very tough on almost all guests that have been anti-Bush...so, I will cut her come slack re: Brokeback Mountain..(ick).
