Castro is a force of nature though. It amazes me that he took power during the Eisenhower administration, and outlasted that one, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and now Bush 2.
The sad thing for most Cubans is that they have never known freedom at all. The vast chunk of them were not born until Castro was already an institution.
I would be that the only way Castro got in while Ike was still there is that he pretended to be the savior for Cuba and turned to be just another tin-horned commie dictator. By then it was too late we had JFK and lyin lyndon. JFK left some very brave people hanging at the Bay of Pigs.Sad day for us.
