It would be a nice play to have the Israelis help out in the War On Terror under the pretext of defending themselves from Hezbollah and Syria. The Israeli pullouts could have been part of a plan to bring about the current Israeli offensive against Hezbollah and Syria. If Iran interferes, the US has the pretext to take out the Iranian regime. Checkmate.
