A short while ago CNN was saying Bubba should go over there (being more in touch with the situation, ya know) and he'd have things straightened out. Hmm, that was right around the time I remembered why I can't stand CNN and switched the channel.

What a joke.

Unfortunately, it's reached the point that they mistake their insanity for rationality. And the rationality of others as ignorance.

Which means you simply cannot deal with them in good faith - as has been said before, you cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to get to in the first place. All we really can do is continually work to marginalize them. The only cure for the Vietnam liberal is death - they will hold these views until they die and their views will only grow more caustic and absurd with age.

Well said and bears repeating. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

So how does he propose disarming Hezbullah?

Read the official G-8 statement at reply #1098.

Note that there's no call for an unconditional cease fire, and that the cease fire conditions are not face-saving ones for Hezbollah. (And in the ME, it's all about saving face.)

State Department says about Americans, "stay where you are". Says it's too dangerous to get you out of there.

I'm over here praying for your safety, along with everyone else here. Stay strong FRiend.

"Chirac: G-8 members unanimously call for ceasefire in Gaza, Lebanon (AP)"

I think Chirac is hallucinating that everyone adopted his position...no, that can't be right, France likes to take it doggie style.

Typical Chirac M.O.

Every time there is a meeting between the European leaders about new EU rules/laws/policies, after reaching agreement after long, long negotiations, Chirac is the first one out to meet the press and tells them that the result is whatever it was France wanted to achieve. In the end even the various Heads of States are so confused about what was actually agreed on that it takes their civil servants months to unravel the agreements.

Of course us simple citizens have no say on these matters whatever.

Holy Cow! The State Department just said it's to dangerous for Americans to leave Lebanon. Something that has not been reported yet has happened.

Follow the money:

Qatar index sinks as growing violence hits Gulf stocks
(Reuters)

16 July 2006

DOHA - Qatar's stock market index sank more than 6 percent on Sunday as concern about escalating violence in Lebanon and Israel battered investor sentiment in the Gulf Arab region.

Qatar's main stock index .QSI was down 6.08 percent at 7704.52 points at 0852 GMT. All bourses in the Gulf were trading lower on Sunday except Saudi Arabia's market which rebounded after plummeting more than 9 percent on Saturday.

"This follows what happened yesterday in Gulf markets over all the concern about what is happening in the Middle East," said Samer Al Jaouni of Ahli Bank in Qatar.

Well...even a LIB democrat is getting tarred and feathered over our foreign policy...Joe Lieberman.

I don't know how many non-lib democrats will come out from under their beds.
