Why do you think we would weaken our military forces?
Professionals are many times more effective than draftees.
The threat of the draft is mostly used by democrats to weaken our will to continue until victory.

- It's possible but I kind of doubt it.
Israel has shown in the past that it is quite capable of handling Syria which is a shaky dictatorship to start with and I suspect that if the US handles Iran, it will have the limited objective of seizing and destroying the nuclear sites and then departing. I don't see the US getting involved in some sort of long term occupation in Iran like it did in Iraq.
Therefore, the strike at Iraq, if it comes, will likely be short and sharp and over before you could even get a draft effort up and running.
