My only solace would be in the assurance given in The Word, that any child dying before achieving the age of accountability IS with the Lord immediately upon their death (whatever the reason of their death). Each and every single person ever born is immediately subject to The Judgement the instant they can discern a difference between right/wrong. That age is different for each and every individual. Despite the "sin nature" inherent in our corporal bodies, we're not under The Judgement until that time of maturity where we know what we do is wrong (and we do it anyways). Each and every person that lived needs a personal savior - Jesus - after that point in time.
I'm not going to entertain arguments such as what about the Ainu Indians from 20k years ago. Listen: God is self-evident through general revelation (creation). No matter what, when, where, or during what time period: a realization comes to all people at some time during their life that God exists (and who He is).
Succinctly put: once one understands what "murder" (or ANY other crime in the eyes of the Lord) is, then they are accountable, and subject to The Judgement.
