If democracy holds, it will take a generation, before we really notice a changed mindset. I had acquaintances that grew up in Russia and immigrated here before the Soviet Union disbanded, it's interesting to see and hear the mindset of someone who has lived in a totalitarian environment compared to how most American's think.

One thing I've always noticed with Russian friends and with young Russian students visiting is how much more they know about our own government than we do - and it's literally all they talk about.
