It's safer for an 18-24 year old to be in the military than to live in a big city...........or even to drive a car, if the comparison is made.

During Katrina I heard stats that parts of New Orleans were more dangerous than being on the front lines in Iraq. Don't know if that is true though.

I believe that, based on the stats I've heard before.

Unfortunately, I don't have them at hand.

It's obviously a different kind of danger in a war.......including the fact that you volunteer for it, and that you're fighting for freedom and security...... but in terms of deaths, it's more dangerous in parts of the U.S........and I would guess both NO and DC, as well as LA and probably Chicago and NYC, would be among them.
