IDF official: Hizbullah hid rockets in houses
Officer says Israeli planes struck houses in Southern Lebanon villages used by Hizbullah for concealing long-range rockets. We have no intention of hitting civilians, but those who live by the sword are bound to get hurt, he states
Hanan GreenbergA senior IDF official revealed Saturday that Hizbullah has been hiding a large quantity of long-range rockets in specially-designed rooms built in houses in Southern Lebanon villages, operating under the assumption that the Israeli army will have difficulty in locating them and that it would prefer not to harm villages.
More at ynetnews, including the IDF's belief that there are those in Lebanon capable of curbing Hezbollah, so they are trying not to box the Lebanese government in. I don't have that much optimism, since Arab governments traditionally play the "we can't control them" game while not doing a damn thing to curb terrorism. The PLO can't control Hamas, the Saudis can't control Al Qaeda, the Egyptians can't control the Muslim Brotherhood, Iraq can't control the Shiite militias, Lebanon can't control Hezbollah, etc., etc. ad nauseum.
The Saudis and other should be rewarding those in Lebanon and elsewhere to turn in terrorists rather than reimbursing families of suicide bombers.
